How to clip a video

Four steps from long video to clips.

Follow a clipper from the full recording to a clip you can post. Each step runs on the Frameo canvas.

Start clipping
  1. Upload the long video

Drop in the full podcast, stream or talk as an MP4 or MOV. Frameo reads the whole recording before it cuts anything.

  2. Tell Frameo which moments to find

Describe the moment in plain words: the sharpest answer, the biggest laugh, the line people will quote. Manto searches the source for it.

  3. Trim and reframe to 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9

Tighten the in and out points. Then pick the shape each platform needs, from vertical Shorts to a wide YouTube cut.

  4. Add captions and export

Burn in captions you can edit, check the clip, then export it. One run makes one clip, so repeat for each moment.

The cut

Three moments, cut out of one long strip.

Clips from long videos

Six sources, six vertical clips.

Podcast debate 0:28

The sharpest exchange, cut from a long studio conversation.

Twitch highlight 0:19

One quiet reaction, lifted out of a late stream.

Keynote line 0:15

A single sentence from a long talk, ready to post.

Cooking stream 0:31

The best minute of a live cook, reframed to vertical.

Coaching call 0:24

One piece of advice, pulled from an hour-long session.

Two friends in their twenties on a sofa in an evening living room, one finishing a joke and both bursting into laughter, a podcast microphone on the coffee table.

Interview laugh 0:12

The moment the room cracks up, trimmed tight.

Made on Frameo

How one 34-second clip came out of a 1-hour interview.

One interview, one answer worth posting. Here is the cut from the full upload to the export, stage by stage.

An interviewer and a guest in their fifties sit in armchairs by a tall window in a bright studio, the guest answering thoughtfully while the interviewer listens.

    Frameo workspace

The full interview goes into the workspace as one MP4. Nothing is trimmed before the agent reads it.

  2. Moment finding

    Manto

Manto reads the prompt: find the answer where she explains why she quit, under 40 seconds. It marks the in and out points.

A small studio microphone standing on a dark plinth, a single pinpoint light high in frame sending a hazy cone down onto it, soft-edged shadow behind.
  3. Trim and reframe

    Video Aspect Reframe

The cut is tightened, then reframed to 9:16 so the frame follows the speaker. The extra space is filled, not cropped.

  4. Captions and B-roll

    Add Subtitles

Captions are burned in with the Add Subtitles skill. One B-roll cutaway is generated on the canvas to cover a jump.

A woman in her late twenties seated at a desk reviewing a short vertical video on a phone propped against a mug, face lit by the screen and one warm lamp, quiet smile, ISO 1600 fine grain, late-night
  5. Export

    9:16 export

The finished clip is exported at 9:16, ready for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.

Video clipper questions.

A video clipper is a tool that finds the best moments in a long video and cuts them into short clips: Frameo does the finding, trimming, reframing and captioning. It is built for full episodes, streams and webinars, and you upload your source as an MP4 or MOV file. The upload limit depends on your plan, so check See plans before you start a very long recording.

Yes. The reframe follows the speaker through the shot, and where the new shape needs more room, Frameo fills in the extra space rather than cropping them out.

Yes. You can change any word and adjust the timing before you export, so names, jargon and brand terms read the way you say them.

Export 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feeds and 16:9 for YouTube. Pick the shape for each clip when you trim it.

Drop in your longest video. Leave with clips.

Upload the full episode, stream or talk. Frameo finds the moments, reframes them and burns in captions. You pick the takes to export.
