How to do a voiceover on a video.

Upload your clip, paste the script and pick a voice. Frameo lays the narration on the picture, in sync.

Voiceover in four steps

From raw clip to narrated cut.

Four steps, in the order they happen. Your picture stays as it is; the narration is laid on top.

  1. Upload the video

Drop in your MP4 or MOV, any length. Frameo reads the cuts so the narration knows where the picture changes.

  2. Write or paste the script

Paste your lines. Mark a pause wherever the picture needs a beat, so the words land on the shot, not across it.

  3. Choose a voice, tone and pace

Pick a voice that suits the video, then set how warm it sounds and how fast it reads.

  4. Sync, preview and export

Watch the read against the picture, adjust a line if it drifts, then export with captions.

Pick a voiceover voice

One line, four voices.

Each voice reads the same line over the same clip. Listen for tone and pace, then pick the one that fits your video.

Voiceover script cue sheet

Write to the picture, not over it.

A read lands when each line starts and stops with the picture. Mark the timing, and the words meet the shot.

Take 1Narrator, calm

00:02–00:06High in the hills, / a stream begins as a whisper.

00:06–00:10It finds the stones, / and learns to run.

00:10[pause] cut to the wide

00:11–00:15Downhill, / it gathers speed and name.

00:15–00:19By the valley, / it is a river.

  • Write to the picture, not over it.
  • Leave a beat on every cut.
  • Keep each line under 15 words.

Voiceover questions, answered

Can I use my own recorded voice instead of an AI one?

Yes. Upload your own recording and place it on the video, or choose an AI voice and set its tone and pace.

How do I keep the voiceover in sync when I trim the video?

Trim the clip, then preview the read against the new cut. If a line lands late, shorten it or move a pause so the words meet the picture again.

Which languages and accents are there?

Frameo offers voices in several languages and accents, each with its own tone and pace. Play the samples in the voice picker to hear them before you choose.

Can I lower the music under the voice?

Yes. Set the music level below the narration so every word stays clear. Preview the mix before you export.

Can I export with subtitles?

Yes. Add captions from your script when you export, so the words on screen match what the voice says.
